nology-fueled lives, the connection to works
made by others lies deep in our DNA.
Subconsciously we need human connec-
tion; we get energy from others when we
fill our homes and wrap our bodies with
artist-made objects.
That creative intent is inherent in
the piece itself. And it is through the
expression of artists that we, too, find
personal expression. We travel to
small towns, big cities, and faraway
lands to find those connections.
For more than 70 years, the Amer-
ican Craft Council has celebrated
the work of these artists. The ACC
serves as a catalyst in this cyclical
connection of artist and patron. Artists
curate the world around them, watching
you, to create and interpret trends.
The American Craft Council serves as
another curator, creating highly selective
shows that bring together the simplest
perfection and the grandest creation. Then
we bring our personal tastes and curiosities
to find that jewel among jewels that speaks
to us in some special way, allowing us to
express our own creativity. And the cycle
continues.
In the following pages, you'll find select
items that exemplify this virtuous cycle
available for purchase at the Baltimore and
Atlanta shows.
